waybad: SUNDAY, JUNE 3rd, 2012 So the launch party for the Way Bad book (being put out by the homies at PERMANENT SLEEP) is official: the Ottawa launch is happening Thursday, July 5th at Babylon and I am BEYOND STOKED that three of my favorite bands in the world are playing!CRITICAL CONVICTIONS are gonna kick things off with their thrashy, fast ‘n’ pissed, female-fronted political hardcore.  These dudes have been working on an LP; hopefully it’ll be at this show.PREGNANCY SCARES come next with their Youth Attack-style chaotic and spastic hardcore venom. WHITE LUNG finishes things off with their tense, relatively (maybe completely?) power-chord-free punk that always reminds me of 80s-slasher flicks for some reason.This show’s gonna rule.  The Toronto show/book launch’ll be the next day (I think).  Details to follow.  Get stoked.  Come get wild. Two awesome bands from Ottawa (a serious remark without a single hint of friendship-favoring bullshit) and one of Vancouver’s finest (again, a wholehearted endorsement) have aligned for one hell of party. If that wasn’t enough, this will also be the night that births one serious tome of debauchery in the form of the WAY BAD book, which will finally see the neon lights of Babylon. Also, you should pick up copies of White Lung’s new album if you like to listen to music that isn’t fucking garbage. On one last note, we have had to drop off the Ottawa Explosion Weekend, which means that we have probably been replaced by a way better band, so you have more reason to attend. Come on, The Men fucking rule, right? If you do not respond in the affirmative to that last question, I never want to know you.
